Another Poljot 3017 Chronograph [Strela] Added

Just received this Beautiful 3017 Chronograph, virtually unmarked, keeps perfect time,as usual.
It has a late movement,so would have been made near the end of 3017 production.
I bought it through the offer process on e.bay.
The seller was an absolute Gentleman, and the transaction was seamless.
If you want to see all of my 3017 Chronographs, just scroll down the page on the right hand side..

  3. Ok, so I had been checking out the Strela after I read your post and I couldn't stop myself from getting one. I've just reserved one of the re-issues (Poljot Strela Chronograph 3133-2121208). Being a re-issue, it has the newer 3133 movement rather than the original 3017.
The watch is out of stock, but if I don't manage to get the black one, I may just go for the white dial instead.
What are your thoughts on the 3133?
    Regards.
    Dhruv

  4. Excellent news,i have come close to buying a Strela reissue myself,i realy like them, but whenever i come close something else comes up,[currently Raketa dress watches from 60`s and 70`s].
The 3133 cal movement had to be very rugged,i find it slightly less refined than the the 3017 cal,the 3017 is much less rugged though. So the 3133 and 31659 cals had the main attribute needed in a watch originaly designed for military use.
    Regards,
    Russ.

  5. That's great to hear! I wanted a watch with a 3017 movement, but the lack of any decent watchmakers here had me worried about getting it serviced. Besides, at 39mm, the watch will be right in my sweet spot! (The newer Sturmanskie issues, are 44mm)
I just hope they get one in stock soon! The EURO is going up (or the Rupee down) and the wait is unbearable! :p
    Best.

  6. Hey Russ,
Sorry, but I'll need to bother you again regarding the Strela (I'm so ignorant!). I'm a bit confused about which watch was used in the first space walk? The black dial or the white/cream? Also, is there a connection between Poljot, Strela, Sturmanskie and Volmax?
    Thanks!

  7. Hello Dhruv,no problem. As with most Russian watch history nothing is totally certain, but the concensus of opinion is that Alexi Leonov took either a White dialled non-luminous cyrilic Strela[pictured 6/7th down on my Poljot chronograph drop down menu]or an early version of the luminous white dialled Strela[4th down]during his space walk 12.6.10.
    Regards,
    Russ.

  8. Hey Russ!
Some more research into it and from what I found, the watch in the 6th and 7th picture are more true to the watch that was worn by Leonov in 1965. The white dial with the paddle hands are a different variant of the black dialed Strela worn by Gubarev in 1975.
So if what I read online is true, the white strela (non-luminous) is the correct watch. i think I'll go ahead and order that :)
Thanks for the info. It sorted out my confusion!
    Best regards.
    Dhruv
